Family Night:
The first Wednesday Evening of each month (except June and July) is Family Night
at Wright’s Chapel with the Men’s Group and the Women’s Group Meetings. At some
of these meetings, a snack or dinner is served. Come join in the fun and our ministry
to others.
Wright’s Chapel Mission Workers Group:
The Wright’s Chapel MKH (Mamie K. Herring) Mission Workers/Women’s Group was
established in the late 1980’s while Reverend Fred Foster served as Pastor of
Wright’s Chapel. Mamie K. Herring was a member of Wright’s Chapel who worked
diligently during the years when there was little money to pay the pastor and to
keep the Church functioning. The name Mission Workers was used because the
Women’s Group’s main function is Missions and Ministering to those in our
community where there is a need. The Wright’s Chapel Mission Workers sends
a donation each month to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, has
sponsored Bible Studies, Vacation Bible Schools, and Fall Festivals in the past.
We partner with Lifeline Ministries in Thomasville, Georgia to provide Christmas
shoe boxes filled with items for Latino children each year. We make baskets of
fruit and deliver them to people in our community that we feel will benefit from
them. Our major fund raiser is an Annual Chicken Bog (Chicken and Rice
cooked in a wash pot) and a Bazaar in April.
Wright’s Chapel Men’s Group:
The Wright’s Chapel Men’s Group was started in 2001 by Reverend Greg Lee as
Pastor and Mr. Lloyd Corbett serving as the first Leader of the Group. The Men’s
Group assists members and friends of the Church with needed projects around
their home such as minor repairs and yard cleaning. Annual out-reach events
includes a Wild Game Supper, Swim and Rafting trips to the Ichetucknee River,
and Campouts in-support-of the Ladies Group’s children program. The group has
sponsored a walk for Vashti at Wright’s Chapel with Naylor UMC and Statenville
UMC participating in the walk. We take pride in programs undertaken for the ladies
of the Church that includes a Valentines Dinner and a Mother Daughter Banquet.
Funds are generated to support our ministries by cooking and selling dinners and
donations received from group members and residents of the community.
